Piano lessons for music students in Pittsburg, Antioch,
Oakley, Brentwood, Byron: the Delta region of California.
Lessons take place at the Thompson residence on a six-foot Yamaha grand
piano, or on a six-foot Steinway grand piano.
Lessons are one on one, allowing adequate attention for each individual
student's particular strengths and weaknesses.
Five-week months sometimes include workshops, where students engage in
additional music-oriented activities, such as games, videos, and
composition workshops.
Students perform in studio recitals twice each year, once in the
Spring, and once in the Fall.
As members of the Delta Branch of the Music Teachers' Association of
California, Eric and Catherine are able to offer additional benefits to
their students, such as monthly opportunities to perform in the large
recital hall at Los Medanos College, where students share their talents
with other students, parents, and teachers of numerous other studios
belonging to the branch. The MTAC also provides a standardized
achievement program, Certificate of Merit, which, if opted in to,
provides training and testing annually for music theory, ear training,
technique (scales, arpeggios, chords, etc.), and performance of
level-scaled repertoire. Many other benefits are available. Please
